Core Plant Engineering

Process equipment design and detailing for fabrication

Vessels, skids, piping, panels and access structures, to ASME BPE, DIN 11864 and cGMP.

About Core Plant Engineering

Core Plant Engineering is the physical side of the practice. The measure of a finished package here is simple: a fabricator builds from it without sending a question back, and that standard sets how far the detailing goes on every deliverable.

Most of this work runs as the design partner behind system and skid builders. They win the fabrication order and hold the client relationship. Most of the manufacturers our equipment reaches have never dealt with us directly.

What we deliver

  • Core Plant Engineering

    Process Vessel Engineering

General arrangement and fabrication drawings, nozzle orientation, and saddle and weldment detailing for jacketed and non-jacketed vessels.

  • Core Plant Engineering

    Integrated Skid Systems

Skid layout, equipment integration, structural frame design and utility routing, delivered as one coordinated drawing package.

  • Core Plant Engineering

    Process Piping Engineering

Routing, isometrics, plant modelling and utility integration, delivered as a coordinated package around vessels, skids and plant lines.

  • Core Plant Engineering

    Control Panel Design

Panel general arrangement, wiring and schematic drawings, and instrumentation integration, detailed for the panel builder and the commissioning engineer alike.

  • Core Plant Engineering

    Platform & Ladder Systems

Access platforms, walkways, ladders and their structural supports, engineered to fit the vessel or skid they serve rather than bolted on afterwards.

  • Core Plant Engineering

    Cable Management Systems

Tray routing, power and signal segregation, and termination and gland schedules, detailed so the electrical contractor can pull cable without a site query.

  • Core Plant Engineering

    Mechanical BOM, MTO & BOQ

Bills of material with SAP-aligned part codes, material take-off by grade and size, and mechanical BOQ formatted for tendering.

  • Core Plant Engineering

    Simulation & Custom Components

Displacement and stress evaluation on a nominated component or structure, and custom component design where an off-the-shelf part does not fit.

  • Core Plant Engineering

    2D & 3D CAD Design and Detailing

3D modelling, 2D detail drawings, and paper-sketch-to-CAD conversion, delivered as revision-controlled packages a fabricator can work from directly.

  • Core Plant Engineering

    BIM & MEP Modelling

BIM and MEP modelling with clash detection, coordinating mechanical, electrical and plumbing routing against the structural model before it reaches site.

How we do it

  • Take in what you already have

A process datasheet, a P&ID extract, a reference drawing or a paper sketch.

    YOU GET

    Engagement model

  • Agree the deliverables before the first sheet

The deliverable list, the drawing standard and the review checkpoints, all settled before anything is issued.

    YOU GET

Most Plant & Equipment work is delivered as the design partner to system and skid builders, running as a dedicated pod trained to your templates and review process, or on time and materials against an agreed scope.

  • Run it through designer, checker and approver

Every revision version-controlled, nothing shipping on one person's judgement.

    YOU GET

A first engagement is usually one vessel, one skid, or one drawing set.

  • Hand over a package you can build from

Something your shop floor and procurement can work from directly, in the formats you use.

    YOU GET

Native CAD files in Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor or Revit, PDF drawing sets, DWG and DXF, and STEP where a fabricator or downstream tool needs it, with the BOM and MTO that sit around the drawings.
